What Is A Penny Arcade

A penny arcade is an early coin-operated amusement venue built around mechanical novelties, fortune tellers, peep-show viewers, shooting galleries, and other low-cost amusements. The name still survives today, but many living examples use mixed pricing and a very different machine mix than the original penny-era spots.
