Why Did The Nintendo 64 Use Cartridges

The Nintendo 64 used cartridges mainly because Nintendo wanted instant data access for 3D games. That choice brought faster response times and sturdier media, but it also came with smaller storage, higher manufacturing costs, and a few collector headaches today.
